BUSINESS STRATEGY ANALYST SR
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This role will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of growth strategy for the divisions within the Office of the President. Will work closely with Technology and Businesses to develop and execute on strategies to maximize value including optimal use, personnel needs, service, quality & process improvements and innovation. Position will develop frameworks and utilize analytical insights, and innovative thinking to formulate solutions to key business challenges.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Establish and build relationships with senior leaders across multiple Businesses Lines, Finance, Operations, Risk, Technology to effectively drive change.
Develop and deploy pricing infrastructure and pricing strategy integrated across the full suite of commercial products (Loans, Deposits, Treasury Management and Payments Solutions)
Develop insights into City National Bank ("CNB") commercial product profitability and trends through deep analysis of financial, transactional, portfolio and client data, market insights, and subject matter expertise. Establish reporting and analytics capabilities to perform an ongoing monitoring of business, portfolio, market and financial trends.
Curates, prepares, and integrates large and varied datasets to test business hypotheses using SQL, and implements statistical analysis using Python and R.
Perform data analysis by writing ETL/ELT jobs, SQL queries, APIs on various source systems, data marts and data warehouse support of the requirements for various strategic and/or tactical projects.
Works with structured and unstructured data to further enable a risk-based audit approach and help identify impacts to the organization’s internal control environment while leveraging automated and self-served capabilities
Build and develop an analytics catalogue that includes automated scripts that can be used for continuous auditing.
Develops an automated business intelligence dashboards and related reports to create persuasive visuals that demonstrate impactful insights for the audit department and stakeholders.
Work with data analytic professionals across the CNB enterprise to leverage internal audit enterprise tools, projects, and expertiseDesign innovative approaches that assess and evaluate business processes and risk management practices.
Establish base commercial loan reporting and analytics, incl. portfolio and financial trends by product and lines of business.
Deploy active product management discipline as required. Evaluate needs for product management efforts across the full spectrum of CNB commercial loans. Based on the outcomes of the assessment, establish product management practices incl. product road maps to close competitive gaps and enable business strategies, analysis of market and competition, develop programs and campaigns to support business growth strategies with consideration for risk and product profitability.
Evaluate, develop and deploy strategies and tactics to improve cross-sell of commercial products and attrition of commercial clients.
Develop and maintain deep analytics of commercial client relationships and trends.
Collaborate with divisional partners to develop, pilot and deploy targeted programs and strategies increase client retention and cross-sell programs.
Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, perform regular analysis of business and portfolio trends, maintain and update financial models.
Ongoing collaboration with divisional partners to support business strategies leveraging existing and future products and services.
Develop new analytical tools, oversee maintenance of pricing tools and policies.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor's Degree Business, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computational Biology/Binformatics or related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics cycle (data gathering, transformation, modeling, analytics, and reporting) using data analytics tools like SAS, SQL, R, Python and/or ACL.
Minimum 4 years' experience working in Banking, Management Consulting
Minimum 4 years' experience designing complex business strategies and financial models
Skills and Knowledge
Experience working as a Business / Technical Systems Analyst or BI Developer in a highly analytical environment.
Experience working with Python, R, Java and SQL and strong coding abilities.
Deep understanding of banking finance and experience in financial analysis
Deep knowledge of financial products, services and industry
Experience in design and execution of strategic business growth, transformation and technology implementation initiatives
Experience collaborating with senior executives and business partners
Strong structured thinking and data analytics skills
